Hi chaps, a little advice please. I'm looking to add something a little special to my current fairly modest collection. At the moment I have 2 Breitlings; a Blackbird and an Avenger Skyland ltd edition (black), It seems that there is split opinions on Breitlings due to their bought in movements and the "bling" nature of some models, though i must confess to rather liking mine, especially the Black Avenger. I also have an Omega Seamaster NZL 32 which is my daily wear along with a Baume & Mercier classima executive. I'm not really after another chronograph, although i'm quite taken by the JLC AMVOX2 Chrono DBS but put off by the AM tie up which I feel is a little tacky. I'd like something classic and understated, I love the JLC master control and I know IWC do some beautiful pieces but would really appreciate some thoughts on what else is out there. Thanks

I think up to 7k is realistic although i could go to 10k for something truly special. I know second hand Patek's can be picked up with that budget but i'm not sure on the styling although i appreciate the quality is stunning.

Love the A.Lange and Sohne Lange1, absolutely beautiful. at 13k list this is pushing the budget a little too far unless discounts can be negotiated. What's peoples thoughts on Breguet?

An unbiased opinion, naturally! wink

I love Breguets and I don't even own one.

All my opinions are biased! smile Or they'd be facts, probably. Anyway, I do love Breguet, both for the history and their modern watches (which could, with a jaundiced eye, be seen as 'badge engineering' since Hayek is determined to take on Patek and co. with Breguet as the 'top dog' in the Swatch empire...)

The old ones are nicest, though I can't afford a really beautiful vintage dress Breguet frown

Of course I'm biased but;
1].a nice s/h AP in SS could be had for around £7k.
2].the new Zenith carbon with c/f strap is around £7k in Singapore but maybe more in UK. My current favourite for a dogs b*llocks work watch - I'm buying one to stop scratching my AP ROO Titanium.
3]. understated, beautiful face for a Breitling, BfB Mark V1, in rose gold with light brown vintage style dashboard face and leather strap, around £11,700 in Amsterdam. Photo's on the Breitling site don't do it justice. My current favourite for a dogs b*llocks dress watch.

Considering what you already have and for something "classic and understated" I'd be looking at: JLC Master Control or Reverso (Reverso Duo Grande GMT cloud9 ) or Blancpain.
