It's very nice but to be honest not quite to my taste...not at that price for a TAG...which normally sits below this price bracket,

How about this virtually new Breitling with a substantial discount?

I'm with you on the TAG, but feel the same way about the Breitling TBH. I find Breitlings to be a little showy and in the same category as TAG.

To the OP - what does the price you've been quoted from the dealer represent as a discount from list? I would think that you should be able tp achieve 20%, but others will be able to advise you better here.

I know that you haven't asked for alternatives, but at £2700 you can have a LOT of watches...

I don't know a huge amount about watches, but am learning. I love the design but am led to believe they are a tad glorified.

Same here - and what's with the rev counter in the background? Redline at 4500 rpm??? Must be a bloody diesel. Hardly worthy of the name 'Carrera', shureley???

Personally, I love the design and would dearly love one, but unfortunately at £3k it is rather more than I would want to spend on a Tag.

Actually you're right! For that money I'd save myself a grand and get the BRM V14 they have for sale.....job done...and a lot more cred with the driving fraternity perhaps cool

Is it because Tag & Breitling are so readily available. Every jeweler's window either has one or the other ...or both...

I think it goes deeper than that, I mean Omega you can find in most windows, but they seem to be more regarded than TAG by a long shot..

V8 maybe?....they generally don't rev very highly.

My american pushrod V8 will rev to 6k - and that's a plodder of an engine - 4.5k redline is unheard of in modern petrol engines, it has to be a diesel. Just seems crazy to advertise a motorsport-inspired watch with a diesel tacho in the background, but maybe that's just me being picky hehe

Don't like them. Don't like the weird sliding sub dial things, remind me of a '70s Citreon CX dashboard, and spending ROlex money on a Tag is like spending Aston money on a VW. Nothing wrong with Tag or VW, but only up to a certain price.

If I were buying a chronograph I'd want an Omega or an Ebel at that price point.
