Xmas fast approaching, my daughter showed me a rectangular 1930's style watch she likes in a jewellers in Chelmsford. I don't think it was that dear (probably quartz) but I would like to find something new but retro for her present. I deliberately didn't spend time looking so as not to give her any ideas but if you can point me in the direction of any makes like that I'd be grateful.

Anything else that you can show images of as a reference?

Only thing I can think of are the Cartier Tank watch and the JLC Reverso Duetto - Iknow these are probably out of budget if you're looking at quartz but are they the sorts of designs you mean?

If so - I think there are many brands that do something similar (obviously not the two faces for the JLC)

Similarto the Cartier in style - very 1930's like my Dad used to wear I guess. If you can think of any makes it would be of great help. I don't want to spend a fortune because she is not one to look after things too much! Kids huh.

I thought the ladies Cartier Tank francaise *was* quartz? Not particularly cheap though. My girlfriend's one has stood up to constant wear though without damage, and she isn't really 'precious' about her watch - it's a strong design, the bracelet isn't flimsy or easily breakable.

I think the Cartier is quartz as well but not what you'd usualy associate with a quartz budget.

Have a look at www.christopherward.co.uk

He has quite a range of rectangular ladies watches for not a lot of money.

Been having a look at the new retro series he has just brought out, but at the moment the watch fund is depleted.
