Im looking to get a new watch, and i quite like the look of some of the new Nixon range.
I had a "Player" a few years ago and was more than happy (and still am) and now want to spend no more than 300 - 400 on a new watch and have seen the 51-30 / Chrono
Does anyone know the recent quality of these?

Can't see your two photos but I looked at the range from £1100 down to £40. The expensive ones have a direct copy of the Tag bracelet and at £340 you are into quartz, not mechanical. Frankly, I have never heard of them before but then that doesn't mean much anyway. They are probably a standard Seiko or suchlike movment in their case. Which leads me to recommend a good Seiko at this price range for proven quality or go a bit higher and get a Sinn.
The 51-30 is MASSIVE, i tried one on once but it looked silly. The quality is very good though, the strap is solid.
I have a Nixon Boss which is a very individual design but the quality of the strap is not great, you can see the pins etc on the edges of the strap.
Nixon are cool and unpretentious, i have been tempted to buy another.

these are nice looking watches
I have not seen one in the flesh (yet) but I have been looking to buy one
they have an automatic movement and they are pretty waterproof
and they are a lot cheaper in the us
typically less than half the UK price so in my eyes it makes them a bit of a bargain
Not bought one yet as they do look a bit big so i would like to see one in the flesh before taking the plunge ....

I've got a few Nixon watches - must be a snowboard thing
I've got a 51-30, the special edition black-on-black one. It's a solid, well built watch, and if it's like my other ones it'll be durable. I paid £180 for mine from The States. I'd definitely try one on before you buy though as it's huge, and quite heavy. I thought the Delta was big but this is a monster.
Here are some pics next to the player to help you gauge the size
The chrono is this one BTW, with the additional dials
