I've always been one for the unusual...

The Really unusual... This just turned up from Singapore...
Sieko AirPro with voice.
The AirPro's themselves are stupidly rare but to find one with voice is superb, I didn't even know this version of the watch existed.
Obviously being a Japanese market only watch the voice is somewhat.. well, Japanese
So know that's two Airpro's in my collection, wonder if I can find a third (Still want a yellow and black)

Sieko AirPro's are sports watches fitted with a unique strap. The huge black button on the front is actually an air pump for inflating said strap to secure the watch to your wrist. This one is different because it is fitted with a voice module for the partially sighted and the display is very small because, well... blind people don't need a big display on thier watch. It's also quite geeky that the voice is only in Japanese (and he sounds very angry )
Surprised at the attitude towards it to be honest... I thought this was a forum for Watch collectors?
I don't hold with only collecting watches that make me look good in other peoples eyes, I collect what I want. Yup, this piece is seriously Fugly, but so what? I like it.
Wonder if it's even worth posting piccies of the next one (Russian) when it arrives

I think its mental. I don't like it at all for its looks, but I think I'd love it for what it is.
Good on you. And good luck with the search for #3
Cheers... Mind you, it's only taken me a couple of years to find this second one. I havent searched every month if I'm honest but I've always got an eye out for one Good on you. And good luck with the search for #3
Thing is I'm now seriously running out of room in the cabinet
Great post. TBH when you post pictures of an unusual watch you will get a wide range of responses.
I think it's brilliant when people collect these 'individual' style watches. It's such a bloke thing, you'd never catch a girl getting excited about some obscure watch that has a Japanese man shouting the time at you.
This forum would be really really boring if all we had were the "were can I get a Daytona" and "what watch for £ whatever" posts.
More please.

Thank you kind sir.I think it's brilliant when people collect these 'individual' style watches. It's such a bloke thing, you'd never catch a girl getting excited about some obscure watch that has a Japanese man shouting the time at you.

Another photo I took today but didnt bother uploading after the initial responce...
These are the two AirPro watches I own, the one on the left is the "standard" version, which is actually slightly larger...
And this is where they live...

I have to say I dont like it.
I dont understand why you are getting so touchy, you post something which you yourself agree is unusual and expect everyone to reply with a post saying what a fantastic timepiece it is.
You hadnt explained what it did in your OP. I also (although this could be a failing on my part) cant think of an activity in which a blind person would need such a sports orientated watch.
I for one can see why they are rare.....

That's exactly how i feel about this thread.I dont understand why you are getting so touchy, you post something which you yourself agree is unusual and expect everyone to reply with a post saying what a fantastic timepiece it is.

FAIL.This is a forum for one-upmanship and boasting. You need to read the DM and start whining about waiting times for new blinged-up Sea Dwellers.
Please try harder.
People frequently post photos of less expensive, more unusual watches and people love them. Look at how popular the werner thread was. Sinn watches always receive a great response also. People love it when Tertius posts photos of his latest watch, sure some are expensive but many are more affordable and beautiful.
TBH Rolex are one of the most polarising brands on here, they certainly don't have universal following. Look back to the Speedy pro Vs submariner thread when the forum first started, the speedy was much more popular.
If someone posts photos of an expensive watch they have bought and I don't like it, I'll tend to keep quiet as they have already bought it. If someone is saying they are thinking of buying one I'll probably be more direct. I think the less expensive watches tend to be part of larger collections so people are perhaps more likely to be more critical if they don't like them.
As I said earlier if you buy a very 'individual' watch more people are bound to not like it. I don't think anyone needs to get offended by it though. The reason it's so individual and rare is usually because when it was released many people didn't buy it.
This is certainly not a boasting forum as anyone who just wants to boast about buying £££whatever£££ can only really post about it once. There was MUCH more watch one up man ship when this was part of the P and P.
I think this is a great little forum. I love it when people post pictures of watches which are unusual, especially when the include some information and history about them. I may not like them but can still be interested.
