What are PHers views on Longines watches?

I'm currently saving up for a 30th b-day present to myself, and the one below is on my radar.

Do they have a good rep in the watch world? Do they have a good or bad image among those in the know?

You may want to ask this in the Watches forum, lots of experts there.

I have a couple of Longines (Ok, 4). Seem pretty reliable/robust, classic designs that won't date quickly.

My oldest one I have had since 1998 but some jewellers do discount them once in a while so keep watching and waiting.

I like them - as B&B says, they're nice, 'classic' understated designs manufactured by a well established company with a good name behind it.

Much less flashy/chinzty than Rolex and many of the other fashionable brands.
