do you ever use your warranty?
Discussion
Am almost about to buy a tag and am thinking will get it from here:

Only thing that concerns me is the lack of tag warranty but the cost saving is £600 odd so is a tag warranty really worth it - it does come with one from them although not sure how good it is.
Do you ever use your warranty?
Any other disadvantage from buying from them?
Thanks

The price is good, is the price correct? They have recently been reviewed, the current UK retail is £1575. Do they have stock? Don't forget to add VAT and Duty to the price. The disadvantage of the warranty will present itself when you need, you'll need to send it back to the States. The cost and the wait could be a real pain in the a**.http://www.prestigetime.com/item.php?item_id=3032

I'd agree with that, only had my Tag for a little while and I don't expect it to go wrong. However it is reassuring that I can walk into a comparatively local jewellers with my receipt and call on the warranty if needed. Having to post it international with full insurance will be either expensive or slow. Of course I'm assuming that if you purchase from the States there is no international warranty that can be called upon via an authorised repair centre in the UK... Is it only the US that can supply at such an effective discount or can you buy it in Jersey / Guernsey? Not looked myself, just CI would be cheaper to send the watch to for repair should the worst happen, or cheaper to visit if there is some haggling over what is covered
I had to use the warrenty for my TAG Vintage Monaco when it wouldn't reset to zero.
The watch was sent back to TAG for the repair as the jewellers didn't want to touch the watch themselves as they said they were worried about damaging the painted dial/face. The service from TAG was excellent and ever since then I have not had a problem with the watch.
