Hi all, been thinkin of treating myself to a TAG heuer watch, quite like the F1 style ones. dont want to pay the earth so less than 700 quid. Friend suggested getting one from the states as they are similar price in dollars there than pounds here. Any suggestions of a decent online store or place to try? cheers

Pop the same question in the watch section. Quite a few good guys in there and even a few good dealers who will look after you if they can biggrin

I'm looking at getting one in the near future. Found this link in the watch forum which looks pretty good:

Apparently there is an outlet shop in Bicester as well which gives good discount.

I bought two Tags from http://www.prestigetime.com/ over the last couple of years and would reccomend them. The last watch was delivered in under 48 hours and was much much cheaper than buying here in Ireland.

I've got a Kirrium

Cost me £600 in Gran Canaria. Full international waranty and all papers.

Retail over here was about £1000.

As has been said, take a free holiday.

Got this from the TAG outlet shop in Bicester. Ex-demo, but 'as-new' & full TAG warranty for £300.

So these watches come in from the US? Exchange rate being what it is now makes sense to take advantage.
Notice the warranty is "2 year PrestigeTime.com" and not manufacturers warranty.
If you have problems would it need to go back to US or is there a UK outlet?

In the UK I'd certainly give a thumbs up for Dominic at Lumbers in Leicester - I've known him years. However, I have ordered two watches from here:-

http://www.authenticwatches.com/tagheuer.html

You need to do a wire transfer but I transferred the money on a Monday and both times had the watch within a week Fedex. No VAT or customs either. I think you'll find their prices attractive and if you check out their reputation on Epinions or Bizrate you will find them top rate.

Nice, tough watch. I had one with a white face 3 yrs ago, cost £200.00 from the states.

I also had a F1 chrono which I brought one year later, for £250.00.

Both were sold later on ebay for profit which went towards buying my Monza. I paid £600.00 for that from the states, they sell at over twice that RRP here. I wont be selling the Monza, it's a lovely unique watch. It is good to know though that I would lose next to nothing if I chose to sell.

Are you me?! I went to try some on yesterday, thought the Link Tachymetre was a bit big for my arm and very chunky. Omega Speedmaster slightly smaller and undoubtedly nice, but really fell for the Twin Time which I will be buying. Lovely watch, looks so very classy in the metal.
