So, what are the thoughts of the collective?

Should I try a local watch repairer or send it back to Geneva and,if I do, any idea of cost?

As you can see from the pic, the luminous marker at the twelve position has cracked. I really don't want it falling off and jamming the mechanism...

How old is it? New enough to take back for a new one?

Could still chance your arm to be fair. Go into wherever you bought it posing as a new buyer. Nose round the seamasters and ask how long it's likely to be before they start looking shabby, and once the sales punter says they're built to last a lifetime etc just nail the fker to the wall and get him to sort yours out.
