Any suggestions on where to get the best price (new and second hand). Looked on line and in Switzerland and the best I can get is £6550 for the steel case (new).Royal Arcade has one for £6500 second hand.

http://www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk/watches2.htm £5,950. Just hope you've already tried one on 'cause it looked like a soup plate on my wrist.

I saw John Malkovich was wearing one on Graeme Norton the other night. You could recognize the crown from 50 feet away. hehe

As said, make sure you've tried one on for size.

I have fairly larger than average wrists and I tried one on. Desperately wanted it to look right, however, it reminded me of a Mickey Mouse watch.

Definitely try before you buy!

Not sure it is really about the size of your wrists.

I feel really naked if my watch is less than 42mm. My wrists are average and other people might think ?????? when they see my big watches watches but I perceive my Panerai and Portuguese as normal now.

I put on my old TAG the other day and it felt like I was wearing a ladies watch. That said, when I see a big old U Boat then I chuckle to my self and think how ridiculous is that.

Its all relative. If you love the Pilots watch, it will look good on you wrist even if you are built like someone with an eating disorder (Prescott excluded)

Forgot to add that I got my IWC in Miami at a great price from an authorised dealer.

All in it worked out about 2/3 of UK RRP.

No it won't, it will look really silly.

Agreed. Saw someone recently with the Seiko Monster on. He looked as though he needed a sling for that arm or that otherwise he was making up for being physically challenged elsewhere if you get my drift. It needs a big wrist to carry a big watch off properly, otherwise you'll look a right tt. When I tried the Big Pilot on (I have the Spitifire Chrono at 42mm which is about right) the strap pins were so far off the side of the wrist on both sides that it looked plain daft. I still like the watch though but just can't wear it.

As I said it is all relative. When I see big watches (Jacob and Co) on footballers and the like I do tend to think d***head but when it your dream watch on your wrist you tend not to see the faults.

Thanks for the comments. I tried one on at Heathrow and I thought it looked great but now I have concerns. My wrist is about 20.5 cm and would require the last adjustment on the strap. Still interested in finding the best price.

I've searched the net and that was the best price anywhere. Blowers are a highly reputable jeweler.
