Away from my usual desire for complicated mechanical watches, sometimes I feel the need for peace and minimalism.

Whilst random watch-browsing I came across this:

What does the great PH watch community think? I particularly like the strap, which appears to have no foldovers but just connects like a big rubber band. I'm not interested in the watch for the movement (I presume it's a boggo quartz, either Japanese or ETA, I doubt it's Chinese at that price) - just the design.

Very simple, thin, and small (37mm diameter). I'm rather keen, given that the designer's (Flemming Bo Hansen) other stuff is in the permanent collection at the NY museum of modern art. I'm not keen on his original piece because I'm not fond of digital watches. But the analogue version has the same smooth ultra-minimal strap that moulds into the case.

I think it'd be a completely refreshing change - there is a bit of inverse snobbery because few people would know what it is, but it doesn't look cheap - and oddly, it doesn't look like a Swatch, even though you'd have thought Swatch would have a model just like it.

Am I just going mad?

Not my kind of thing at all aesthetically, but i can appreciate good and concise design. I like it but would never buy it. (Who's/what is it?)

Nice and simple and the band does like nice.

Here's a Jacon Jensen one.

Similar in feel I think - met the guy last year. I had a product launch for Jabra that he designed and I had to look after him. Got in a right mess!

I love the Oris BC3 and Fortis Spacematic as minimalist, clean looking watches. They're also reasonably large which is an important factor for me.

The ones posted above look a bit effete and if they're quartz, the stuttered ticking wouldn't appeal. For me, there's nothing like a smooth sweep of the second hand across a clean dial.

Funnilly enough I have one of these...

Rosendahl Watch III
Same designer, but his take on the digital watch. The screen is that clear all the time, even in direct sunlight. Beutifully made piece.

Don't like dressy watches much unless it looks vintage and classy.

I love divers so if the question is what is a pure modern minimalist dive watch then I think the Tutima DI300 has it pretty sown up. Also comes extremely highly rated by guys I know that have had them and dived with em.
