Not sure how but i've managed to 'nick' the bezel on my year old Sea Dweller (probably when pissed!). I've mananged to damage the black portion slightly and it is really annoying me!! Has anyone had theirs replaced? Any ideas of cost? There is a local Rolex repair agent to me which coild be an option. Will it need to be pressure tested to have this done? Perhaps i'm being too anal and I should leave it!!

The bezel sits on top of the case and as long as you haven't damaged the crystal you should be fine for a pressure test - by all means get it done for your peace of mind - then again, when is your next trip to the Mariana Trench!

I don't think the bezel is particularly expensive and any AD should be able to do it - I know that quite a few people like to swap them on the Subs - especialy to the Pepsi or LV spec - so it can't be too expensive or time consuming.

Thanks for your reply Asterix. The damage is very tiny, but it annoys the hell out of me. Sad I know! Will call the guy on Monday for a quote.

If you're in the South East you can try Rolex St James or Rolex Bexley, who can probably do this while you wait. I think the insert is about £30-£40.

If it's the black section with the numbers on it then it's just an insert and a new one shouldn't be more than about £30-40.

After a bit of hassle with the local repair agent and Rolex St James it is now sorted. The local agent will replace for approx. £22 + v.a.t.

Thanks very much for your help guys!

good price clap

was the hassle a negotiation on price, or when it could be done?

Nice one - good job.

Great watch isn't it!? smile

I love mine - completely different than the GO I recently got (which I adore as well but for different reasons) but a really cracking watch.

No the problem was that the local guy said that Rolex would not supply parts for a Sea Dweller beacause he can not pressure test it onsite (he can only do up to 40 ATM??). However after speaking to Rolex St James they clarified that he could get the part because it is purely external work. St James quoted £22 + v.a.t. for the part that they would fit foc, so my local guy said he would do the same. Should have it done by the end of the week. Job done!

Asterix, I love the watch that's way I want to try to keep it pristine. I also have a Automatic Seamaster, and a Monaco, but the Rolex is by far my favourite. It was one of those landmark things for me to own a Rolex!
