Does anyone have an opinion on a Chophard XL grand tourismo limited edition to 1000 pieces in Titanium. I am working in singapore for 2 weeks and have found one for around £2.5k (20% discount). I can't find a picture but main difference is the face is dark grey with very fine lines.

Question - do these hold their values? is this a good price?

thanks in advance

I had been in love with the Mille Miglia's for a while, but by all accounts the movement inside them is just a plain old boggo ETA, and from what I've seen, I don't think their resale value is that high, but I'm in the US so it might be different where you are.

ok thanks I am not in love with it, just thought it might be a bit different. I refuse to lose money on watches though. Just got my daytona at list (took 3 years though!) Now I did fall in love with the blancpain 50 fathoms chrono! but out of my price range (£6k)

I would agree with DrJon - the Chopards don't seem to hold their value brilliantly - not bad but certainly don't seem to gain.

I think the movement is from the Valgranges range so definitely ETA but not, perhaps "boggo" ...wink

Also 1000 isn't really a very limited edition.

Personally I think they are very attractive watches and if you want one to wear then definitely go ahead. I really like the GT XL, except for the d**n cyclops which I cannot bear, and is a deal breaker for me.

had a look at the chophard today, the cyclops has put me off. Would be nice to find a 'toy' whilst I am here. Ideas appreciated

Very nice watch, tried it on in Boodles once, was suprised at how comfortable it was. 2.5k sounds like a bargain.

Are you sure it's in titanium? As the April 1st price list only shows the model in steel or rose gold.
Steel prices are:

MM GT XL = £2,630
MM GT XL power control = £3,200
MM GT XL Chrono = £3,600
