My fiancé is now being (forcibly) educated in the art of timekeeping by a WIS (me) and for the first time has started asking to look at ladies watches when she's being dragged round the shops by me.

She's never bothered with a watch before but I think I'm going to get her a JLC Reverso to introduce her to my addiction.

What does your partner wear or what do they think about watches?

My wife has a gold Ladies Rolex with small diamond baguettes for hour markers.

Personally, it's not my cup of tea at all but her Dad bought it for her 21st birthday and she loves it. I'm not going to encourage an interest on her part - it will only halve the budget available for yours trulywink

Good call on the Reverso, Asterix - lovely-looking watch with some proper heritage behind it.

My Mrs wears a reduced size Speedmaster.

She is after something more dressy as well so we are thinking of a ladies Rolex Oyster (although she likes the Channel things - but has had my thoughts of us spending 1500 on a quartz fashion watch explained to herwink ). I saw a (fit) girl wearing a full size Rolex Explorer today, which looked very good loose on her wrist.

Good call. I like men's watches on women, and a panerai looks particularly good.

Given that I don't have the budget for a Panerai for yours truly, Mrs F certainly isn't getting one. However I did recently buy her this, and she loves it to bits.

Mens Longines conquest, but a 50s reissue and so small enough for the female wrist. It was a surprise gift, and I got mucho man points that day!

My wife wears a rather pretty vintage hw Girard-Perregaux, rectangular case with movable lugs, which I bought her a year or two ago.

She seems to have several; a Technomarine chrono, and a couple of Hermes watches, along with a fake Patek since the real one is also quartz, and she's sensible enough not to want to spend $8k on a quartz watch.

Mine has a variety, but her favourite is a white Chanel J12. I know it's not really a watch, but she loves it...

My Mrs wears a Stainless ladies rolex with diamonds on bezel and face, but a JLC Reverso Duo is exactly what she has been pestering me for next!!!

Any chances you can pass on ballpark prices for them in Dubai, (Stainless / White gold, Ostrich Strapwink )

My missus usually wears an Omega Constellation special edition thingy her dad got her... But she wore my 42mm IWC Spitfire Chrono out the other day and despite being the size of her wrist, it looked really, really good actually...!

My wife's daily wearers have always been a gold accurist or a silver rotary. Both very nice watches but are small dress watches.

Last weekend she asked if we could go get her a new watch, something different to what she has already. I thought she'd get bored of looking straight away, but was quite pleased that she took an interest in what we were looking at. I ended up buying her a ladies Citizen Eco chronograph in stainless steel.

She loves it biggrin

My wife has no interest in watches but I bought her a Cartier:

I think it is the "little black dress" of ladies watches - can be worn anywhere.

She seems to like it as it is almost welded to her wrist...

I actually found one of those in an old farmhouse we bought in France. I must be 50 years old as thats when someone last lived there and it isnt in great condition. It was found with boxes of random old stuff.

I took it to Christies to see if they could value it but they thought it might be hooky (didnt take the back off though) and I dont think they believed my story about finding it. I might investigate some more now I know a bit more about watches - certainly take the back off!

Currently a stainless steel Longines quartz with diamonds around the outside of the bezel (if that's what you call it on a square watch) and a gold plated Citizen Riva chronograph with diamonds around the bezel. I fancy getting her one of the diamond Omega De Ville's that Nicole Kidman is advertising at the moment.
