Starting a new job, want a nice classy watch to wear with a suit? Quite like big faces.

Any help?

How about this. RRP about £800 but can be had for around £400 off Ebay

seconded, but you'll have to get up early to find one for £500 in as good condition as this.

Ah, yes, the little known £500 Patek ... biggrin

Here's the back of the Stowa to tempt you a little more ...

I believe the 500 quid version is called a Patel Philippe.

I've seen them in Karama Market in Dubaiwink

This sinn 556 is in your budget on a leather strap (a new one, not mine), it is a great watch and stunning at the price.

Goes well enough with Mr. Bond's suits. £450 on ebay just now.

Eh? What's wrong with the Patek or even Tertius's Stowa if price is such an issue.

I don't know why we bother sometimes. . . .

My Seiko is/was available with a metal band but there don't seem to be any on Ebay at the moment. The nearest I can find is attached below, but it's not got day/date or power reserve, despite the sellers description.

Incidentally, I bought my watch from South Devon Watch Sales and the service was A1.

Looks like its quartz to me.

Don't care for the contrasting date wheel in the otherwise black face.

For that money, I'd either buy a Sinn, Stowa or buy my Oris Big Crown all over again. RW always struck me as thoroughly decent watches, but quite hard to get excited about when I held them in my hand, and I never liked the dots on the bezel, or the fact that they were quartz. I think I'd rather a Seiko. Thats all personal, though; and having said it, I havent so much as looked at one in a window in ten years, so who knows what they're like now. Still wouldnt be one of my choices, though.

Been looking at that one this very day - nice

I'm sure it was £495 in Beaverbrooks - maybe wrong.
