Hi,

I'm looking to treat myself and get a decent watch. The only pre-requisite is that its automatic and a chronograph.

I have been looking at the Invicta Speedway, but can't for the life of me find a retailer in the UK.

Does anyone have any suggestions on retailers or makes and models?

Cheers

depends on budget ...for about £1K I dont think you can beat an Omega Seamaster, about £3K a nice IWC Chrono in various styles, about £6K a Rolex Daytona etc .....

Used Tag Carrera Classic?

Lovely looking watch and used gives much better value.

Where would you start looking to buy a used one like yours?

The Invicta Speedways all appear to be quartz rather than automatic (and Daytona copies to boot).

Buying a new auto chronograph for that sort of budget will almost certainly get you a Valjoux 7750 based watch.

Have you looked at Sinn? A 356 would be a good buy well within budget. Alternatively Fortis or Ollech & Wajs would be worth looking at.

If you are willing to buy used all sorts of things would come into the frame. I recently bought a Girard-Perregaux F1-2000 for not much more than your budget.

However, I would personally scrap the auto requirement and get a used Omega Speedmaster Professional - easily done within budget.

The sales forum on TZ-UK is a good place to look or if you are willing to deal with the hassle of a US purchase look on Timezone Sales Corner.

Nice watch.

I bought a Seamaster Pro Chrono (automatic) for not a huge amount over budget new in HK. Obviously the flights would add to the cost smile But I reckon a used one of those might be doable for a smidge over.
