Just looking for some suggestions as I've fancied a GMT watch for a little while now. Can't afford an Explorer II right now, which would be my ideal GMT, or for quite a while so thinking along the lines of something nice and cheap around £100 or thereabouts. Something I could wear if travelling and wouldn't have to worry about losing/breaking/having stolen, that looks half decent. Cheers.

Following on from the above, have a good look through the Werners Flying Watches thread here too. I bought one for fun and the IWC is in the drawer for the moment! Oh, and I forgot to take it off when I went in the pool last night since my other watches are properly protected. Not a problem at all either!

Thanks for the suggestions guys, just a shame those look like such blatant Rolex GMT knock-offs, but I'll see what else they've got.

Sinn do loads of GMT or UTC function watches. They're strong well made with good movements and something a bit different. They're certainly not Rolex copies.

The only problem with Sinn is that they are brilliant watches but don't fit in to the OP's budget. I get loads of emails daily from people wanting to sell me replicas but I own an IWC and several Breitlings and yet I find Werners watches fun, adequately made and relatively quite cheap given the 2 years warranty. Personally I'd recommend them. After all, at the price he is talking, he can't expect the world.

We did but are not sure what good it will do, no specific discount was mentioned.

Indeed! I have a £100 Seiko diver that I wear in case of social drinking and potential smashage, so a comparable GMT watch would be perfect. I've decided that a Sinn UX will be my next serious watch purchase but that's not going to be for a while so this will tide me over for a bit!

Just thought I'd mention that I typed 'GMT Watch' into Google and this came up: http://www.wernersflyingwatches.com/products.asp?ProID=191 ! I couldn't find it on the Werners page when I was searching but it's just what I was after and it looks like a bit of a bargain!

st, if I'd seen that before I bought mine from him I probably would have bought it. Just be careful though since if it isn't on his site it might not be in stock. Give him a ring and post here when you know. I might be tempted.....

Actually having had a scout about I think I might go for this one:

http://www.andys-pens.ukhome.net/s99.shtml

under 60 quid delivered. I know it's paypal etc but i'll bung it on the mastercard then it's not my problem if it goes pete tong.

60 quid cant be bad. I was considering the same watch with the steel band but I expect i'll have to take it to a jewellers to get a few links taken out which will no doubt cost a tenner or so, which negates my objective to buy a cheap, interesting watch!

OK, well I spoke to Nick today via email and the good news is that this watch - http://www.wernersflyingwatches.com/products.asp?P... - is still available. The bad news? Well, the price has gone up slightly due to the current state of the £/Euro exchange rate and also due to the fact that Nick had to pay a premium in order to get the watches in stock... because there are only three left in existence! And the even worse news? There are now only two because I've just ordered onewink

that is a shame, mainly for the reason that the scotsman in me wont let me purchase it now, out of principal!

It is a very nice watch though..

Has anyone considered the Omega seamaster GMT? It's 46mm, which may be a little large for me but looks like a stunning watch. They seem to be selling for £5-600 second hand. Won't break the bank!
