Thinking of getting one of these as a resonably priced everyday watch. Are they any good

Which one?

personally I really like the look of the GT XL, except for the cyclops which I absolutely cannot bear - without that I'd have one.

However, it is a bit pricey for a watch with an ETA movement.

Nice review here

Just the GT and not the excel. 2 years old and at a reasonable price to use it while working on the car and not getting concerned!

I have that one and it is an excellent looking watch, I don't use for everyday wear - it just doesn't "feel" as solid as other watches and I do not wear it for sports/swimming

And just on time my Breitling has stopped working. Backup is Dunhill till the Chopard arrives!
