Rolex GMT 2 -pepsi bezel
Discussion
I have been looking at various watches over the past month including Sinn , Omega and Rolex with the intention of purchasing a new one. I have been looking at the Rolex GMT 2 in the Pepsi Bezel (blue and red) and really like the two tone colur combination.. Was thinking of buying second hand...what would be a good price for a post 2000 model in excellent condition?
Does any one here own one...what do people think about this model?
any comments much appreciated.

The Rolex 16710 GMT-Master II, a great watch. The blue/red 'Pepsi' is my favoured combination. It is now discontinued, and has been replaced by the 116710. This has driven up the price of good used examples (with box/papers and accessories) to around £2k +/-.Does any one here own one...what do people think about this model?

A great watch, get it serviced every 4-5 years, and it'll last longer than you!
Thanks for that Dominic..
I have my eye on a black bezel GMT at a good price.. may purchase this one over the next few days. If I go for it I would like to get a pepsi and coke bezel to compliment it....where can I source these. I note ebay have a few aftermarket ones...but would prefer the original.
cheers

You might still be able to have the bezel supplied and changed while you wait at Rolex service centre in St James London. The bezel costs around £35-£45, IIRC.I have my eye on a black bezel GMT at a good price.. may purchase this one over the next few days. May I be so rude as to ask what constitutes a 'good price'? I'm after a second hand GMT.I have my eye on a black bezel GMT at a good price.. may purchase this one over the next few days. I got a "Pepsi bezel" (never actually heard it called that before...) GMT2 for my 21st nearly 5 years ago now and absolutely love it. I spend quite a lot of time in Florida so the red on the bezel has unfortunately faded a bit from the sun but am in two minds whether to change it for a new one or just accept it and keep it original. Might seek advice when I look into a service.
I have had a few of the usual negative Rolex comments but I know its real so just ignore them and actually derive a slightly smug sense of satisfaction to know that at least it will still be around far longer than the jealous fools!

I think the pepsis models is a very unique colour combination, retains that classic look. I have also seen the red/black bezel versionsalso known as the 'coke' model, but have to say I prefer the former. These are becoming hard to track down since they were discontinued last year. Inquired at delaers all over the country for a new one...but they have all gone.
the new GMT model although has newer technology, in my opinion it doesn't have the same look as the older model.
