Mrs S has a big birthday coming up, and I've promised her a decent watch.
Budget is circa £2.5k and she fancies a Rolex - doesn't have to be new.

Now being a bloke, if it was my watch, I'd decide what model I wanted, then look round on-line dealers for the one I wanted from the comfort of my armchair.

Being a woman Mrs S will want the full shopping experience. I haven't the time right now to go to London for the weekend, so can anyone recommend any reputable dealers in the Northwest, who are likely to have what I'm looking for?

Just bought A Rolex Sub Date from Peers in Blackpool.
Was looking for one for a while all over the North west and they were the only one who had one in.
Rang them up, they are 100 miles from were I live by the way.
Drove down and even got the watch reduced by £300.
Good service from them.

There is also a place called Ancient and Modern in Blackburn. Never dealt with them but they do have a website and look to have some nice watches in.

A little further North and you could try Owen & Robinson, 33 Bond Street, Leeds.

Purchased a couple of watches from them, stock and service are first rate and received a good discount too.wink

David Robinson Jewellers just off Deansgate on St Ann's Square are pretty good. They're Rolex ADs and have some attractive payment options. (see another thread)

Just bought a Submariner 50th anniversary from them. Excellent service, offered champagne etc ask for Andrew and maybe mention that Sean with the green Rolex sent you (might give both of us a good discount next timewink)

Speak to Haywood Milton in Liverpool http://www.miltonaires.com/rolex_soldexcluded.asp or The Old Watch Shop in Southport. I have bought several watches from these two dealers- both are very reputable and absolute experts in their field.

Thats exactly the watch I am after. Did they offer a good discount?. What should I expect to pay for a new one?

Its a beautiful watch, I find myself checking the time a lot more now! I think the the prices of all Rolex's have risen i.e. a Seadweller is £3280 RRP now...can't really say the discount but like all buys, there's roomwink

Update- Bought a watch today from Milton's in Liverpool.
Like RRH I was impressed with them.

We bought a Ladies bicolour datejust with back diamond dot dial. It wasn't actually on their internet stocklist.
Went a bit over budget, but Mrs S is a happy bunny. smile
