Rolex Explorer 1

My wife has been looking for a larger watch for herself and we have seen a roles explrer 1 which she likes as we are currently on hols in the carribean. The guy wants the sterling equivalent of £2300 for it and i am trying to see if this is a deal or not. does anyone have any prices in the uk? ive tried searching on line but nothing has come up so far for the same model.

This link seems to indicate they are about £2,390 in the UK including Vat etc. I'd be minded to pay the extra £90 and buy in the UK and not have the worry of HMC&E in the future.

The watch lists at £2600, I would have thought you should get a similair deal or better here, without the issues that Dazren correctly raises....

just bounced this rather than atart a new thread. I ahve emailed second time around and await a response. In the meantime does anyone have any other recomendations as I may try to get one in the next week or so.

With where your office is I'd be tempted to call over to Mappin & Webb on Park Street (used to be Chilcotts) and ask them for a discount. Can't imagine these places are finding it easy to shift stock ATM.

I'd also email Dom on here and see if he can get you a new one at a decent price.

If you are happy with a non-brand new Explorer, head over to www.vintagerolexforum.com. There's one on there @ £1650 shipped in the UK and I'm sure you could haggle.
