I know this watch has been discussed a few times and people were still on the look out, so I thought I would pass this tip on.

Beaverbrooks in the Metrocentre Gateshead, have a Tag Monaco Gulf Limited in their window as of yesterday (5th May 08), if anyone is still trying to pick one up.

I can recommend them highly, having bought mine from there a few weeks back.

Hope this helps anyone still looking.

Where from? I haven't been able to find anyone selling them, specifically the white face version?

I think the white face Monaco was the '06 limited edition.

Yes, the white face is the older (and as it happens less popular) one. I must admit, I posted this topic because I had noticed that the supply of the one pictured had dried up and a few people had commented that they were still looking.

Just being helpful!

Really? I actually prefer the white face. It looks much 'cleaner' and fresher. Better for me i guess! biggrin

Just what I was told by the watch guy. He was relaying a conversation with the Tag rep about the fact that the black/orange/blue one was very popular and much more popular than the white faced one - which he believed was down to the white one being more of an acquired taste.

May well have just been random banter, but he had no reason to lie about that particular conversation.

Got both the white face and the black love them both but must admit the black is my favorite.

When I bought all mine they were scarce and it took a little while to track one down.

Both are nice watches keep good time and are fun to wear but large if you have a small wrist.

Think its great that PH members 'Watch Spot' for limited editions.

Dear All,

I may well have missed the boat here (and only by a week), but if anyone sees a Black face Limited Edition Tag Monaco Gulf, as per the top of this thhread, could you let me know please.

I have wanted one for a while and would prefer not going down the ebay 'is it real' route.

Many thanks watch watchers.

Regards

Ian

They occasionally pop up on http://www.watches.co.uk/ and http://www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk/index.htm

May be worth a phone call to reserve one if they get one in?

Not a huge help, but there were loads in Florence when I was there in November... (and I mean more than ~30 in shop windows)

Always loads on ebay

Have just sold my White gulf on there after owning it for a week. Made a cool £300 smile

I took a look on ebay.co.uk and I may have been searching for the wrong thing, but I could not find any Monaco Gulf editions on there. Certainly not 'loads'.

What search terms are you using?

I went for 'Tag Monaco' (listed all) and 'Tag Monaco Gulf' (listed none).

Just in case anyone is bothered, Goldsmiths in Canary Wharf have put one of these in the window, with a 30% off sticker on it, putting their price at £1750.

That's a bloody good price. almost worth buying a second one at that price! smile
