I'm looking to buy a leather strap with a deployment clasp for my Navitimer. I do not want to buy the original Breitling strap and clasp. I am sure it's brilliant but cannot justify the price.

Can you help me by suggesting a reasonably priced alternative?

Where can I get a good deployment from?

Any ideas which colour would best suit a black faced nvitimer?

Any suggestions you could make to help me out would be appreciated.

At the risk of sounding like a tt - how can you not justify the price of a replacement strap, when you have obviously justified and PAID the price of the watch itself?

Peronally, I would never put anything other than a Breitling strap on a Breitling watch. I guess in the same way as I will always ensure my watches are sent back to the manufacturer for servicing at the correct times.

To me it's a little like buying a Ferrari and then changing the bonnet and doors for ones made by Halfords...

Not really, as many strap manufacturers produce to OEM standards.
Breitling straps are overpriced and better quality ones can be had for a quarter of the price, try timefactors.com
they do straps and deployment clasps and are apparently superb quality.
Thanks,
Andrew

Especially since there is nfw Breitling actually make their own straps - they will buy them in and have Breitling stamped on the inside ...

RIOS and Di-Modell make excellent straps.

I don't see much point in paying £200+ for a Breitling strap, if you can get a similar or better quality one from another supplier.

Thanks fo all the info, I have come across 'Hirsh Liberty' straps, which are apparently made to the same spec as the Breitling ones but at a much lower cost.
