I was wondering whether anyone has had any luck in getting a discount from a rolex dealer.

I have been quoted a discount of 20% for Jaeger Le Coultre watches. I was looking at a submariner or GMT 2...would any discount be possible?

I managed to get $100 off my GMTII at jewellers in Miami a couple of years ago by telling them that another branch in their chain at a mall down the road had offered my a discount on the same watch that they also had in their window.... A small white lie now and again doesn't hurt anyone...

I tried a couple of places here in Dubai and the max discount was 10%.

I guess that will also be model specific as well.

I recently secured a 17% discount on a Daytona (WG) at Mappin & Webb. I think the discount one can secure will depend a great deal on the model.

Kind regards

A friend just bought a Rolex Yatchmaster in St Kitts - all the Caribbean Islands were the same prices at 25% less than UK.
Worth having a holiday!

Yup, see my previous post, 25ish% off in Mexico. All the Rolex dealers seem to be the same chain. I got mine from the shop in Playa del Carmen just outside Cancun - and a lot nicer to visit.

I'm off to Saudi this evening.

I'll have a look if there is any discount of any note.

I'm going to be going regularly and may be able to help out.

I haggled quite hard with my official Rolex dealer and got fifteen and a half percent off mine.

When I decided to buy a Bi metal Daytona I also decided I was going to pay five & a half and not a penny more, I did not want the all stainless although that seems to be the favourite, it may also be more difficult to get a deal on one of those.

Took two visits to the shop, price dropped in small amounts, all along I told him I would only pay five & a half, he kept tapping on his calculator to see what was the best deal he could do. Stand your ground, when he got within a hundred pounds of the price I was prepared to pay I just told him drop another hundred pound & the deal is done.

Very happy with my purchase

I have previously been given anything between 10 and 15% from Mappin and Webb in the city (Fenchurch Street).

I know a chap who can get good prices... he's a watch broker (if you've ever heard of such a thing!)

Drop me aPM if you're interested and I'll get his details over to you.

Cheers

Its the same old story , supply and demand.
Rolex tend to limit and retail, more 1.stainless than 2.steel/gold and 3.full gold.
QED. discounts on 1. are few and far between
BUt on 2 and 3 you can haggle.
They limit allocations and or production. Its become a bit of a game really.
I can normally offer "reasonable" discounts if your not needing the watch Yesterday!!!
