Rolex would be Audi – Quality but ubiquitous and boring
Seiko would be Fiat – Better than you think but still cheap and nasty
TAG would be BMW – Junior management
Breitling would be SsangYong – Too fussy and over priced
Patek would be Bugatti – Subtle and over priced
IWC would be Jaguar – Not as good as they used to be

Feel free to elaborate/discuss…

And Sinn would be VW. Reliable, efficient, not too dear; the thinking man's choice.

What a load of cock.

Hell, if you want to be a movement snob, then Seiko come above Tag, Breitling and IWC because Seiko make their own movements in-house including all parts, and are responsible for some innovations in mechanical watchmaking... if you wanted to take the piss you could get away with calling Seiko a 'manufacture' smile

(and even Patek have a stash of Lemania movements for some of their watches, not a bad thing in itself, since Lemania are owned by Breguet and from a few years back are now not sold to anyone else than Breguet)

Just like cars, people buy watches for different reasons. Power, handling, practicality, price, prestige, image, reliability, etc. Same with watches. This thread is cock but a different thread could be interesting... for example from a brand-snob's point of view versus a movement-snob's point of view...

and I'd have trouble wrapping them round the pads and fitting them in my watch box. Especially the ZT400, which is especially long and doesn't have an adjustable bracelet

I'm sure the OP meant it to be amusing, but it's just not.
