Nope.

From what I can tell...

The crown on the dial is far to thick.
Everything about the script is too heavy.
The second hand does not go right to the edge.
The horns around the winder are the wrong shape.
The '6'
The main bezel is too shallow

Does it 'sweep'?

I could, of course, be wrong!

My gut feeling is that it's a fake. However I'm not an expert, and there are others more qualified to say for sure.

I agree with Asterix, looks like a fake, the X in Rolex looks a bit shacky for want of a better word and when you look at the crown logo above rolex the dots look to blur into crown points. Does that makes sense? Too many Cognacs has made me forget how to speak English!! lol

That date font. rolleyes

Open six and nine are two of the biggest giveaways. You don't have to be an expert, nor have a genuine to compare it with, if the date looks like that, it's a fake.

I think you are all correct.
Tbh the thing which put me off most was the feeling of the movement, and the clasp.

The story is as follows, it was found in the park by my mum, reported to police and we have since been told we can keep it.

Obviously I would have returned it to the owner if they ever returned knowing how gutted I would feel having lost it.

The movement feels loose, I thought it may have been down to having been dropped, the bracelet had broken.

Anyway no need to worry anymore.

Explains why no one reported it........

The bracelet is usually a good indication of a fake, they put all the effort trying to make the watch look convincing but don't bother with the bracelet/strap.

get it opened, Rolex mark them when they service them, remember the dead man that they where able to identify because of his Rolex, but looks like a fake to me.
