Anyone used Tag Watches Direct?
Discussion
Hi guys I am in the process of choosing a watch for my 40th birthday present this year & I have found one that I really like which is a TAG model no CJF2114 which was £1995 in Beaverbrooks.
I have found the same watch with a 3 year guarantee see here http://www.tagwatchesdirect.co.uk/tag_heuer_mens_w... for £1620. Has anyone dealt with this website before ? & if so are they ok?
Alternatively does anyone know of anywhere else that may be able to beat these prices?
Many Thanks

I use this site for research all the time, but have never had the balls to buy from them - which is probably a huge shame if the guy is a perfectly legit business, just trying to make a few quid!
Particularly looking at the Breitling's there with a good few hundred pounds off and all the right 'noises' being made in terms of the cert of authenticity for servicing etc...BUT (and it's a big but) as much as the difference can sometimes be extremely tempting, I still cannot bring myself to trust a £1,500+ purchase to a website. Much better a well-established jewellers in the Metrocentre, for example. I will actually pay a little more for the peace of mind that goes with buying from a real person in a real shop that has been there for a long time.
I would be very interested in hearing anyone's comments on the site, tho.

Hi,
I used Tag watches Direct to purchase a Link Diamond ladies watch approx 6 months ago. They were fine to deal with, but the problem arises if you need to take it into a high street shop. The watches come from America (and in my case the bracelet needed altering) which proved problematic if you mention that you bought it on the internet, it also cost £40. The shops i.e. Goldsmiths start to lecture you, then take 2 hours to take two links out.
Also, I do not know whether it was bad luck, or a dodgy watch, but after one month the watch stopped working and I had to pay £8 to send it back to TAG, Tag watches Direct did not offer to do anything for me. TAG kept the watch for 6-8 weeks and passed on no progress report, they did not offer either a refund on a new watch. The movement was broken i.e. completely knackered. I packedged the watch in it's original boxes and TAG sent them back to me damaged, so they had to send new ones.
So I certainly would think twice.
Good luck!

I think that whilst it is important to get the best deal, buying off the high street is always the best when spending money like this on anything. I have used the internet many times to purchase expensive audio equipment and whilst i may have saved a few quid every time it played up it was a nightmare to sort out.
