OK, I've had a couple of good months at work and have a little money that I can buy myself a new toy.

So I'm looking at either the Traser H3 Classic Chrono Big Date

or do I go for the Jack Bauer MTM Blackhawk Special Ops

I really like both, but just cant make my own mind up.

They are both stunning watches, and i have been tempted by both as well, the MTM is a very solid watch from what i read, intresting charging system, great lights. I really like it.

The Traser is really good and i was lined up to get a classic pro blue auto, but i then fell in love with the sinn my dilliema is 556 or 656, 556 i reckon.

I would go for the MTM blackhawk if it was my money.

You may find that Jack Bauer uses a DOXA 750T Military Sharkhunter wink

Check out This thread on the DOXA forum.

Oh and I think they've sold out.

Been looking at them myself as well. I would go with the Titanium MTM Blackhawk.

I have owned a MTM blackhawk and currently own a Tracer black storm pro tactical. I say owned the MTM, I sold it on 6 months after buying it as I really didnt like it anymore. It looks ok, but is too gimicky in hindsight. More to the point though is that even though I was wasnt wearing it everyday it was showing what I'd call an unacceptable amount of wear, including scratches to its glass. This it seems is very soft compared to my Traser and my Seamaster.

The traser on the other hand stands up to knocks and bangs very well indeed (it is my no1 work watch when out at sea), only the carbon (read plastic) bezel is showing any scuffs. Its not without its gripes though. The pins that hold the strap on have a habit of popping out if the watch gets knocked. I almost lost it over the side the first time it happened due to having it on a bracelet. I now use a NATO strap so even if 1 pin goes I cant loose it.

Illumination wise I love the tracer, you never need to press anything to be able to see it, its just always beautifully lit up!! The blackhawk is very bright on the external illumination mode, but I can honestly say I never used it bar when showing it off to friends.

Hope this is of some help.

Have an H3 on a NATO strap and its excellent. Used it while bush camping in Africa - doesn't look flash so not a target for pickpickets, and its bright enough to see your way around the inside of a tent at night..
