Poljot - where to buy in the UK?
Discussion
There are no official UK retailers. E-bay Poljots are cheap, but 99% are fakes. I bought mine from the official Austrian importer www.poljot.at The website is hard work, but the prices are generally competitive and the watches are genuine. You could also try the official German importer www.vostok-watches.com Nicer website to browse, but prices are generally higher too. But a very reputable dealer. Great watches by the way. I've got a 2006 Sturmanskie 3133 chrono.
I ordered it from poljot.at in the end - there were a couple places outside the EU with prices that were similar but they would have been liable for import duty and VAT.
Payment was by bank transfer, which I would not normally have done for an transaction over the internet, but I have found good feedback for them elsewhere and they are listed as an official dealer on the Poljot site. There were no problems, and delivery was quick.
This is what I bought:

They do sell them with metal bracelets - if you are looking at the Austrian site he has one listed here. You could always email and ask - stephan.paul@chello.at His English is good, so he will understand any questions. They do a few versions of that watch (model is 31681/6973607). I got the sapphire glass one, which cost slightly more, but thought it was worth paying for the added scratch resistance.

Another question for you: Is the actual watch supplied the same as in the pic above, with the rather groovy Russian lettering on it, or is what turns up one of the newer generation Poljots with 'Aviator' daubed on it in rather less appealing English lettering?
Ta.
It has the Russian lettering on it, which is one of the reasons I wanted that particular one as the later ones seem to have English lettering. The only difference is that the chronograph second hand is a thin red one rather than the thicker silver one shown in the pic above:Ta.
It was supplied in a nice leather box, with a black leather strap with deployment clasp fitted instead of the Aviator branded strap with a traditional buckle, though that was included in the box along with a green leather strap.
