On a 20-mile charity walk yesterday, we stopped for some lunch and, after a while, i spotted a thin piece of metal on the floor, which i placed in the bin nearby.
It was a great day, all went well in the sunshine and 15 degree weather.

When we get home my partner's Gucci watch has stopped!

It turns out, the back of the watch is missing and was what i placed in that bin 60 miles away high up on Howden Moor.

Can you get any Gucci watch parts in the UK.

It's just a basic ladies watch, small rectangular with no numbers on the dial.

Post an image of the watch, as the model number is engraved on the (missing) caseback. I'll see what I can do....

YHM.

Also i have some 40 to 90 year-old watches and pocket watches.
Are they worth much, the very old ones?

Erm.
That would have been visible to the wider audience i am seeking, how, exactly?

The question was directed towards ANYONE who has knowledge of watches, not just one person.
Wake up!

Here's a thought... post it in a new thread? Then you really would get a wider audience. Of course, you then might attract the attention of the mod's, but as long as you don't try and flog them outside of the classifieds you should be ok. Wake up yourself!

I am more than happy where it is.
You saw it.

A useful answer, related directly to the question in hand, would be of more use than silly side-swipes, in any event.

if you were really after some ideas of value - don't you think it would be helpful to put up details and or pics of the watches in question?

Erm.
I will almost certainly get them all cleaned and valued at some stage, yes.
But, having only got hold of them yesterday, it was an initial enquiry as to whether or not old watches have much value as a rule, rather like one may ask if old telephones, for example, tend to have any value.
I am sorry that you have such a problem with this.

Thankfully, forumers like the very helpful Dominic exist, not just nitpickers looking for a debate!

actually i'm not nitpicking and i'm not looking for a debate.

there are some very helpful and knowledgeable people on here.

my point was - your question was too broad to be answered. it's like saying i have some old XXX (insert an object of your choice), are they worth much. i would imagine that you could say examples of old anythings will be worth something and other examples worth very little. as i'm sure that's not the answer you wanted as it's not helpful, i suggested you describe what you have so others may give an idea on value.

try phoning a car dealer and saying - what'll you give me for my car. no, i'm not telling you what is is, how old is is or anything else and no, you can't see it, but i want to know if it's worth a lot or not.

you also never said you only recently aquired them.

not sure why you have such a problem with my posts - but comments such as 'wake up' are uncalled for. maybe you should grow up and you'll find more help.

Spydienut, if you spent a lot less time rolling your eyes and a fraction more saying something of actual use, i might then take you as something more than the rather silly troll you come across as.
Not only do you need to wake up, you need to get a life, by the sound of things, too.

As it happens, i do have 2 of the very old telephones, with the shared-party button on top, for sale, or will be on sale later.

ok - last try

why can't you just admit i have a point?

it would be a lot more helpful with getting an idea of your watches' worth if you let us know what they were.

how is it trolling to ask you to tell us what it is that you want valued?

Your 'last try', (phew, that's over, we can get back to normal), was your best.

I WILL, in due course, find out what all the time pieces are.

But hey, thanks for all your concern!
