After the saga with my watch my Wife's Constellation ran out of battery recently. Shee took it to Goldsmith who quoted 80 quid. She agreed and off it went to Omega. Now we've got a letter from them syaing Omega says it's requires a service for a pleasing 165 quid on top of the 80 battery price.

The watch is just three years old. I can live with the battery but is a service really necessary? Maybe on an automatic but not on a battery drive. Surely.

Tempted to tell them to poke it and just take it to a good watchmaker.

Any thoughts?

Cheers.

Sounds like the jeweller is having a giraffe. I got a Seamaster battery replaced, new gasket and some links removed for £30. Allegedly sent off to Omega themselves for this fine price.

Everybody went on with their lives that little bit happier.
