Im not sure on the numbers, but I am looking for a Rolex Submariner
2000 model year. It must come with all documnets and boxes.

I would also want the watch checked out by a Rolex Dealer before purchase.

Feel free to contact me.

Mine was bought in March 2001 and has a 'P' serial, though I dont think its for sale, unless they are significant and worth lots! LOL biggrin

Paperwork with mine states

Model : 16610
Case No. P731xxx

Does that make it one of the last of the 'proper' ones (Bought new from a offical dealer, fresh in March '01)?

I think you are getting the Submariner confused with the Daytona. The Submariner series, save for the introduction of a newer, bracelet with 'solid end links' is unchanged in years.
The Daytona changed completely in 2000 with a new case/bracelet and Rolex' first in house automatic chronograph movement. This replaced the previous 165-- series Daytona which used a modified Zenith 'El Primero' movement.

Dominic.

You'll be looking for an A/P series Submariner 16610. If anything comes up I'll e-mail you. You've tried the usual watch sites and eBay have you?
Have fun looking.....!

I think you'll be nearer £1800 on the Sub Date, and £1500 for the non date.

Not been too bad an investment then, cost £2100 back in 2001 ...I bought it as a perverse way of saving lol (£2800 new now arn't they?)

I think you will be lucky - I was offered £1,400 as a trade in for mine (1999)?

I think the bracelet pins showing through the watch case really make the watch look dated now, compared to the hidden pins on the newer versions?

Perhaps it will achieve "classic" status and I will recoup my £2,100 in a few years?
