Speedmaster Ltd Edition Values
Discussion
Hi
I am considering buying a used Speedy Professional Apollo 11 30th Aniversary Edition, limited to 9999 pieces from a local dealer.
Is there any premium and if so what % over the value of a similar condition regular Speedy Professional of this vintage?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Alan

always thought it was a bit cheeky calling it limited with 9,999 of them in existence.
the only true limited pieces in my mind are 200 pieces or less.
but to answer your question i would say you will pay a premium for that watch possibly upto £300 more than a normal one.
Good luck and wear it in good health

There's been a limited edition Breitling Navitimer Red Arrows (28 out of 200) on Ebay for a while. £5,000 to you! Wonder why it hasn't sold? I reckon these are just cash cows for the makers really. After all, it tells the time but isn't really anything different to the standard watch. If it is really an old collector's watch I can understand it, but modern ones will need 20 years I reckon to become collectable. If you like it, buy it and keep it. If not, don't think of it as investment!

Personally, I'm happy for a ltd edn label to be applied to things at less than a thousand pieces - I'm a big Omega fan, but i have to say that some of their LEs really do just seem like their taking the piss (wasn't the last bond watch 'limited' to 20,007 pieces?!).the only true limited pieces in my mind are 200 pieces or less.

The trouble with speedy LEs is not just the amount of watches in each different LE but really the amount of different LEs. (If that makes sense)
I remember a thread on Speedy LEs a while back and there were LOADS. Even the famous complete box set photo is only the 'missions' ones. There are still all the various anniversary ones and a few others.
