I was browsing around Bond Street yesterday and almost bought one of these:
It's a fantastic watch, nice heavy weight and not one that you see people wearing very often. It looks a million times better in the flesh than on the photo. It's £3,700 on Bond Street but having looked on the web there's a lot of people selling it for circa £2,300 - 2,400, especially from US suppliers. I'm a bit wary of watches from the web and wondered if you guys could point me in the direction of any genuine suppliers or maybe anyone in the UK who can supply at a similar price.
On a slightly separate note, does anyone know of a similar style watch, heavy weight, large, stainless sports, but with an intergal alarm?
Thanks for any help
David

If and AD is not giving you 15-20% discount - walk away - trouble is these kind of watches are few and far between.
What bothers you about the internet exactly. - lack of official warrantee or 'hassle'. There are some UK Internet dealers that will be easier to deal with but the pricese usually a little higher than the US ones. (don't forget to factor in import duty - cos this brings the prices much closer together if you get stung).

Thanks Sparkhyx. I might be being a bit over cautious regarding the internet but I'm just a bit worried about how reputable / genuine the advertisers might be. You hear so many stories about fake watches being sold that it makes me a bit suspicious. I buy most other things over the net but I'm especially cautious about a high value watch. I was interested to find out from those more knowledgeable on here if any particular web companies are the real thing. I'm not looking for any recommendations or naming / shaming type stuff, just "XYZ internet co offer real watches" would suffice to give me a bit of comfort. People could PM me if they don't want to put it public.
The AD discount issue you mention actually helps in terms of understanding the discounts on offer. If that's the sort of level that one should be looking for / is achievable when buying anyway it doesn't make the difference as marked. I always thought that was a bit of a myth but maybe it explains why the internet prices are what they are. I'm not sure that will be achievable on Bond Street but I'll give it a try for a laugh!! I'm definitely going to buy one, it's just a question of from where and how much.
Cheers
