In this month's evo magazine (Issue 115) there is a shot of Richard Meadon driving the new Subaru and he has a nice looking watch on.

Just wondering if anyone knows what it might be.

Cheers

I can't find a Chpoard that seems to match.

It also looks like it might have the crown on the left of the face.

Anyone else seen it yet and got any thoughts?

Looks like a BRM to me... But difficult to tell from that angle!

Maybe he's done this deliberately for a wind-up?

I think it might be a Heuer Autavia from around the 1970's. The crown of the opposite side to the buttons is quite distinctive

He's had it for a while. It seems that it was swapped for a Navitimer he had. I think it may be an original autavia. Been wondering what it is for a while.

Not a stalker, it just features every month.

Sorry I mean an original Chronomatic.

The Autavia is getting closer but the lugs for the strap don't look right. They look too chunky on the Heuer.

I'm beginning to think that the Chronomatic does seem to be the most likely bet.

In fact, I think I might have found it.

Looks very much like this could be it:

Colours all look right, date is in the right place, bezel looks very close.

What do you reckon?

I saw that and I must admit I wondered what it was. I think it's bloody funny that quite a few of you thought the same thing - i didn't think there would be many evo-reading watch-weirdos... My wife thought I was daft.

And to buy one? Where to go. I've looked about and can't seem to see one.

I have one of these but with a white dial. I bought it from Alexander's in Farnham about nine years ago. I had a contact there who was happy to show me various collectable odds and ends he had in. The Chrono-matic has a great story behind it too, being the first chronograph with an automatic movement, hence the name. I'll post pics when I get a chance this week.
