How bad/good a 'replica' is this Breitling?
Discussion
This watch was bought recently in Dubai, well know for it's fakes, but I just wanted to see what the reaction was amongst the watch appreciation gurus as to how good they are getting these days?
I remember in the early 90's, fake Tag Heuer watches from places such as Turkey and Greece were awful, but in terms of how real they look, how close are they getting to the mark? It's an automatic watch, so the movements inside aren't probably going to be of a great quality, which is why watches such as this retail at £1500 plus? What gives the game away in this example?
In all honesty I can't bring myself to wear it knowing it's a fake. I'd rather wear a 'real' £300 Seiko than a fake Breitling looking far more expensive, no matter how real it looks, deep down I will always know it's not real. This leads me onto my second question... where would it be possible to sell this on to someone who might want to wear it? I am not dishonest, so I won't be putting it on e-bay as a genuine item, however they won't allow replicas on there. Where can I sell it?
Thanks (and go easy on me, I know the watch forum contains some strong opinions on fakes!)
Iain
Two clues, there appears to be a grey hair inside the casing and to me, the gold breitling logo doesn't seem 100% straight?

The sub dials have the wrong hands
Plus it's not a chronograph. The 24hr register at 6 is just showing the time in 24hr format and the 9'o clock subdial is the day of the week.
Appaling. Someone might want to buy thr bracelet if the quality is reasonable.

Hi, I'm new here! I'm into cars & modding etc, but I also collect watches genuine Swiss and (high end) replica...
That "Navitimer" is in reality worth about £10. There are many faults with it...want me to list them?? No? Well, I'll just mention the obvious:
The 50th Anniversary had the sub-dials in the 3/6/9 o'clock positions, not 6/9/12.
The dial was never white, its either silver or black.
The bezel is too wide and teeth too jagged.
Hands are wrong shape...from a Bentley model.
Bracelet is cheap version of Pilot bracelet, fitted with the clasp of earlier Breitling models, not Navitimer.
Date wheel position and font is completely wrong etc
Oh, the real 50th Anniv. has a completely brushed steel case and bracelet, not polished.
Movement is cheap chinese automatic with faux-chrono's; and as somebody pointed out - is actually a calendar function and 24hr indicator.
My advice - bin it or keep for amusement, but never, ever wear it!
The 2nd pic is of a high end replica Chronomat Evolution. Phase 2 model. A very very good watch nevertheless. I know its fake because the date font is narrower than the unique bold Breitling font...and also because I have that replica!! lol

These fakes cost about 150 - 200 Dirhams in the 'Karama' district of Dubai. The bracelet is the biggest giveaway, on each side of the clasp are about 10 holes to position the pins in order to adjust the size, this is the same on all of the fakes I have seen.
The best buy there are the handbags for the Mrs. These are made using the same materials, to the same patterns, in the same factories as the originals. Designer company requests 5000 be made exclusively for them but the sweat-shop knocks out 500000 for us to buy cheap!! These cost anywhere between 300 - 500+ Dirhams but are worth much more in the UK as the originals go for 500 - 2000 of your British quids. Just don't get cought by C&E...

Lol sorry but what a load of rubbish!!
The bags are just copied , made in China /Turkey etc and not made by the factories that make the original bags otherwise they would loose their production contracts and put hundreds of people out of work.Production is extremely tightly controlled and the best brands are made In Italy !
