Hi all

This is going to me my first purcahse of an expensive watch, I normally wear an £80 Seiko from Argos but I've always wanted one of these watches

http://www.jomashop.com/tag-heuer-wjf1152-bb0579.h...

since my mate came back from Thailand with a fake one when I was a school.

I'd like to ask a couple of question before spending some money on a watch like this.

Firstly, what do you guys think of the price $1500 (approx £750). Is this about right for a Tag?

Secondly, is there anywhere in the UK where I could buy this specific two-tone watch? I'd ideally like to try it on first. Or is there any reputable online store that would accept returns which are safe to buy from (this Joma site doesn't look all that convincing to me)

Also, please could you tell me about fitting and then servicing a watch like this? Which shop should I go to to get it fitted to my wrist. How often should I get the watch serviced and how much would it cost.

Finally, is it worth taking out separate insurance for the watch (I'd like to wear it daily) and which insurance company do you guys use? How do you guys store your watches at night (my Seiko just gets flung into a drawer in the evening).

I bought my Tag from Ernest Jones and found them to be really good, they let you try anything on that you like and no pressure towards any particular model, they do all the adjustments free on the premises as well,

Have to agree, not sure about that, but each to their own!

As for insurance, my more expensive ones are named on the house insurance but generally I don't bother. Watches are made to be worn, they will get the odd ding etc but just gives them character. If you are going to use a watch day to day it won't stay absolutely pristene!

As for storage, I have a watch winder which a couple of automatic sit in - normally the two I am wearing the most at that time. The others just sit on my desk. Again nothing special.
