Hi Stovey
I bought a new GMT with ceramic bezel as a day to day watch. I bought it as a stop gap while i wait for a Daytona, but i now am having second thoughts about bothering waiting for the Daytona, as i love the GMT so much. It looks so much better in the flesh and i prefer it to the older model. It was a bold step for Rolex to change a key model line like this, but you know Rolex dont do things by halves, it feels far from cheap...
Either way you cant go wrong... both great watches.

I prefer the new style one, the ceramic bezel looks amazing with a quality shine. Also the clasp on the new one is much improved over the cheap looking tinny clasp of the old one. The overall quality of the watch is very high. The only downside for me is the polished centre links in the bracelet which makes it very susceptible to everyday scratches.
I'm with tertius on this one. The thicker lugs on the new model make the bracelet look too small for the watch whereas as the older model has a better integration between bracelet and case. I have a GMT Master (black bezel & hollow end links) I bought in '98 so maybe I would say that! The deployant clasp on the new model does look nice though, as does the larger crown.
