Good place in NY to buy Omega SM
Discussion
Hi All,
I am after a good place to buy an Omega Seamaster Pro and will be going to NY (I hear they are cheaper there). I have just come back from the Caribbean and stupidly did NOT buy the duty / tax free discounted one there for £1350. If anybody knows where I can pick up a good deal (Either London or NY) please let me know. I am hesitating on US based internet purchases due to the whopping tax / duty that you get hit with...

Cheaper in the caribbean...whoops.
NY isnt the really cheap mecca for watches that people think it is..
Anyway, you could try Torneau- they have 8 stores in NY.
Pushy salesmen, but you can haggle a decent discount with them. they wont knock off the tax though (unless you are shipping out of state). Ever.Even for cash. And believe me I have tried!
You could also try the diamond district... 47th st between 6th and 7th aves. Diamond and watch stores galore- with some used watches... More than happy to haggle and knock off tax for cash... the majority are on the level.. just be careful there.
I'm not sure if macys do omega... if they do, go on one of their one day mega sales and you will save an absolute boatload of cash and with no sales tax too.. done it myself for 3 tags there.
Although I live in NY, im actually struggling to think of anywhere else....not really a watch city TBH...
You could try haggling at Mappin & Webb at LHR...? Or failing that you can get a decent discount on the high street usually....

Wow, the mega sales at Macy's sounds worth looking at. Are they at the normal times of year (January and summer)?
I will be in NY in early mid Feb, and am keen on getting a new watch, Omega Planet Ocean or Speedmaster Broad Arrow, or Tag Carrera, whatever represents the best deal.
I'll give the diamond district a try, I'm not fussy about going secondhand on watches like these.

Why not just try a good local indepedent jeweller/stockist with a bit of persuasion 20% off RRP should be realistic, bringing it to around £1500.00
I got 15% off my titanium Seamaster Pro as first offer from my local high street Omega dealer before any haggling started.......Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
