I just ordered a new Fortis from Orolus, with the $:£ it looks like a good deal. However I forgot the import/sales tax. Does anyone here have any experience of how much that is likely to be?

17.5% vat + 8% import duty, so 25.5% in total, of the declared value.

Thanks i thought so, that erodes the VFM a bit but i think the declared price will be OK so hopefully i will be happy in the end.

Yes - I used Orolus for an Oris Mile Tonneau in 2004. Ended up paying about 25% to Golden Brown.

Which Fortis have you ordered?

I ordered the Pilot day date as i wanted something on a leather strap and i have discovered that a chronograph function is basically redundant. My day to day at the moment is a TAG Carrera CV2010 and i wanted something different. By the way that has been a great watch.

I was going to order a Panerai but the thought of explaining that one to the wife rather put me off.
