My dad has just purchased a Mont Blanc Start, Chronograpy in steel.

Anyone know whether they are any good, feels nice decent weight etc, but I dont know much about the brand other than they make top end pens.

Cheers

I like the look, but can't stomach spending that much. They are putting a lot of time and effort into them, and want to get up there with the big boys.

Personally, having seen the 2nd hand prices, I am waiting for a nice one to come along there!

My concern with mont blanc watches are that they are not known for their watchmaking skills but rather their pens.

I would be worried spending big bucks on a poor quality watch just because it is associated with a brand name.

Boss make watches but I wouldn't dream of buying a watch from them (unlike their suits).

I don't see rolex or omega making pens !

(though to risk a top-end brand by producing naff watches is unlikely, I don't think Mont Blanc would do this)

And their pens aren't that good either - they leak like buggers
