Had my trusty Omega Seamaster for a few years now and would really like to try something a little different for weekend use and going out. Been looking around for a while and have narrowed my search down to a Zenith Grande Class Open, Grande Chronomaster XT or the JLC Master Compressor, all stunning watches in their own way of course.

If it were your money and were buying based on quality and aesthetics where would your money go.

Many Thanks,

C.

I am a huge Zenith and JLC fan, but honestly those new Zeniths are just yuck. Of those it would definitely be the JLC, though to my mind there's something slightly unresolved about the JLC chronos.

As alternatives I'd also be considering a Blancpain Leman Chrono, an Omega DeVille Co-Axial Chrono, and in the if I could find one category a Zenith Class Sport or a Union Glashutte Classic Chrono.

Thanks tertius, liking the look of the Blancpain Leman Chrono (2885F-1130-53B) although at 40mm diameter i'm a little concerned that it may be a little small confused, probably best to see one before I persue.

Best place/shop for prices anyone? wink

that seeems like a pretty good price, I dont have any experience with the company though or know whether they are reputable???

That is my exact next watch purchase though, im sure when I was in wtaches of Switzerland last that watch was about £5000 but not definate!

I also like the extreme but think you could get bored of the size? my only concern is that I have allways had steel bracelets and love the way they feel, when trying on leathers they just dont feel as nice, but that particular model works so well with that strap im sure il put up with it!

I got my Breitling through them. Theya re cheap, as they source their watches from the Far East. So no dealer support, but they are legit and good.

Narrowed it down to these two models, however concerned with the size i'll have to track down Dealers and have a good look before I hand over my hard earned...

Blancpain Leman Chrono (2885F-1130-53B)

Jeager Le Coultre Master Compressor Chrono (175.84.70)

Does anyone have either of these two models who can share thoughts and maybe pics on wrist etc.

Thanks,

C.

Funny you should mention that! I've got a Dealer taking a couple of shots for me tomorrow/saturday to do just that. wink

Going to have a look around Leeds at the weekend to see if any of the models are available to try.

Settled on an upgrade of my six year old Seamaster to a new Planet Ocean Full Size lick and couldn't resist the temptation of the Zenith Chronomaster Grande Date which is a stunning piece and very classy... cloud9

Thanks for the info. wink
