Hi guys,

I'm thinking of asking the seller to mark it as a repair but still to declare full value for insurance purposes in case it gets lost! Any other helpful suggestions?
Yeah, that'll fool the stupid C&E boys! Why would you have it repaired in Japan? If it's coming in by insured post, you'll have to pay the VAT and duty for sure.

Fair enough, how much will the duty be? And is the duty added on after the VAT?
I think it's before, 4.5% import duty, then apply standard VAT rate of 17.5% on top of that. Note:- 17.5% VAT is on total cost including shipping costs.

My mate works for C&E, give me your home address and details and I'll pass them onto him, I'm sure he would love to help :-))
