My current every day watch has recently died (probably just a battery, but i fancy something new) so i'm looking for a new watch upto £500(ish). I like the look of the Seiko Sportura range but have never owned a seiko, and always thought that Seiko was the cheap stuff you bought from Argos. Also like the Honda racing models. Anyone have experience of this range?? What do you think/are they robust?? Any other makes to recomend along this kind of style??

Hope they perform better than the Honda racing cars!

You can spend £10k on a seiko quite happily (in japan). much like Toyota produce all the Lexus models up to the £80k loaded GS600h as Toyotas in the domestic market, Seiko will sell you a watch from £50 to £50,000. The top end Credor (seikos "Lexus" brand) and Grand Seikos are as good as anything Swatch group produce (ETA, Omega, Blancpain etc).

The Sporturas are nice but are usually kinetic (quartz). They are very reliable, and if you like the sporty styling are a good everyday choice. Make sure you look online - you can get at least 30% off list on Sporturas and Seiko Premier Kinetics. If you want a Seiko automatic, I would recommend a nice Marinemaster diver.

or splash out on one of these wink
