Already posted, but for some reason the title is there but no post

Anyway, I am looking for a new watch, below are some specifics which I would like the watch to have
I am happy with either new or second hand

under £2000
between 38 and 42mm
leather strap
display back
folding buckle

The watches I like at the moment

Amvox 1 (above budget and no display back, but it does have a cool alarm)
Amvox 2 (again above budget and no display back, but cool chronograph feature)
Master Geographic (Propaply fits most of my list)

I also like the IWC range but to have a display back I would need to go for the 7 day portuguese which again is above budget

anyone have any clever ideas?

Thanks

Captain Chaos

This fits the bill perfectly - on Blowers Website

Gents Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control 139 84 20. Steel 40mm case diameter water resistant to 50 meters. Automatic JLC caliber 899 movement with mineral glass see through case back.
Silver "sunray" dial with applied numeral and hour markers. Tan croc strap with double folding clasp. Box and papers dated 2007. Our reference S11008.
(replacement cost £2,650)

£1,990

Thanks for the suggestion Captain Chaos, I just cant help thinking it is a little old for me (i'm 23), and also maybe a little overpriced imo should be about 1500.

I was about to start a similar 'What watch for £2000' thread.

I've seen the new TAG Grand Carrera range which has a very nice looking one for £1995. Anyone any thoughts?

Or any other suggestions? I don't generally like metal straps and I don't like watches to be overly fussy.

Ta!

Omega Speedmaster Pro (model 3876.50.31) fits the bill. Not sure about the deployment strap, but in every other respect it works. Classic watch, and you should be able to get one new for under £2k I would think.

There was one detail I missed in the requirements...

No omega speedmasters...
Its not that I dont like them, just that 3 of my close friends already have them.

I also wanted an auto if possible..

Keep the suggestions coming, so far they have atleast made me reconsider the speedmaster

if you don't fancy the speedmaster you could always look at the Seamaster - especially the Planet Ocean range:

come in choice of bracelet or leather straps (black, brown or orange)

I have one of these:
