Have been having a good look at the new Tag Heuer Grand Carrera 17RS (sorry to all those who don't like the watch or brand in advance!), and the mind is almost made up to purchase one this weekend. Have decided to go for the steel bracelet, but cannot for the life of me decide on the black or white face.

I initially saw the watch in an advert, with the black face. Simple - mind made up. Then when I went to view it last weekend, I was shown both colours, and confusion now reigns.

Could any of you knowledgeable types suggest a good reason for one over the other?

Also, as an entirely seperate note, I note with interest the other thread regarding keeping or selling an old watch. The Grand Carrera will replace a Kirium F1 (steel bracelet, analogue & digital quartz, black face), and as I will not be wearing it, I have decided to sell. Question is, how to realise a good price, and where?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

I too am after this particular piece of gorgeousness. I have tried both and IMHO - for the long term, I would go for black with the steel bracelet. But, will be next year when I get mine after I have saved my pocket money.

Lovely watch.

I've yet to see one in person, went into goldsmiths and they said Harrods are the only people with the watch, and only in gold???? I walked out.

Can I ask where you are planning to purchase from?

Personally, I plan to go for the white face, but thats mainly due to the reason I have a Tag Carrera with the dark brown face already.

I went shopping to Meadowhall (Sheffield) with the g/f last weekend (yes, horror of horrors), and they had stock in both Goldsmiths and Beaverbrooks. Has to be said, I did go there intentionally to view the watches following a visit to White Rose (Leeds) where I was informed that Meadowhall had been selected as a sales centre for the range.

Have yet to haggle though, but Beaverbrooks did mention the "D" word without prompting - which I thought was great news, although I was also told that they "shouldn't"!!

Cheers, Mark

When I went to look I found them in Nottingham's Victoria Centre again in Goldsmiths. There are numerous high end watch shops in Nottingham and that is the only place that stocks them. Although this was a few weeks ago now, so some of the other shops may have them now

Well, back to Meadowhell today, to pick tickets up for my jollies. Could not resist another visit to Goldsmiths to see if they would discount too. Yup came the answer, and out came the plastic.

Went for the black face in the end - I guess seeing it on all the marketing literature worked in the end. Have to say, it's a cracking looking watch, in my opinion.

So, anyone know the best place to sell the Kirium F1 then?

Cheers, Mark
