nice - one of the nicest watches out at the moment - I'd buy the black one but only cos I am not absolutely convinced that after a few years I wouldn't get tired of the orange.

I like them too. I'd go black on black also. It's great with both the rubber strap and bracelet.

Did you get the 'proper manly' 45mm one or the smaller one?

got the 'girly' one as although I'm a big chap I have quite spindly wrists and the larger watches look daft on me.

I got one of those as well - the 45mm, got tendonitis in my elbow after the first day of wearing it as it weighs so much!

all ok now though

Me too. Having a problem getting 2 spare links so currently not wearing it as the links are on back order with Omega. At night the illumination is awsome. Wish I had gone for the titanium option though as it does indeed weigh quite a bit

Very nice!

What's a good place to buy one of the Seamaster range at, shall we say, a best price deal? Is the internet a good place to go? watchfinder.co.uk or do the high street retailers do good deals?

Pardon the muppet questions - I've never bought an expensive watch before....

I paid a grand at Ernest Jones for a 42mm in their sale, although it was ex-display with the leather strap. Might be worth keeping an eye on their stores for the next sale.

Online won't give you an Omega warranty, just the retailers.

You can't officially buy a new Omega on-line with full warranty. Looking at the watchfinder site I got a better deal from Mappin & Webb - plus the wife got a hockey stick (long story!)smile

The chrono is also a fine looking watch biggrin I just prefer the simplicity of a plain face.

My other watch is an Oris BC3...

Ive got a voucher for Ernest Jones for £800 but they dont actually have anything that I like if anyone is gonna spend a lot of money with them, I'dd gladley swap the voucher for the cash alternative adn buy you a pint in the proccess.

I bought my Planet Ocean from Watchfinder.co.uk ... £1800 list, second hand (11 months old) for £1100

Thanks - wasn't aware of the warranty issue from on-line purchases.

They might have the card but it will need to be stamped by an authorised dealer to be valid.

Yes that's fine. Original purchase was from authorised dealer. Brand new watches need the warranty card stamped on day of purchase - which is something you can't get from buying brand new online.

Though how relevant the watch warranty is I don't know - I guess I will if mine should break.
