Rotary or Tissot?
Discussion
I believe that with watches you should buy the best you can afford and right now the most i can afford is £250 and that's only because i have £110 worth of capital bonds. So it has to be a highstreet chain.
I want Swiss though. Has to be Swiss manufactured and assembled. I already have a Tissot so i thought i would have a change. I prefer metal bracelet and square face and analogue too.
Is there any difference in the quality or mechanism and are there any alternatives in my price bracket?
Thanks
Just to add that selfridges is on the list of places i can shop. Also i realise now after doing a bit of digging in this forum that there are some truely beautifull round face watches. Also for the money i have the mechanism won't be that different from many others. I am almost tempted to buy a £9 casio digital in black and save up for that £500 second hand james bond seamaster. Also looking at some of the old Tissot watches on a site suggested here they seem to be the most "inspiring"?, trying to think of the right word.
The only pleasure i did derive from todays highstreet trawl was reeling off "NO!, i'm looking for a watchmaker not a t-shirt maker that thinks they might have a go" to those that offered me DKNY et-all.

At that end of the market they will not be investment timepieces.
For £250 the best watches you can buy will be Seikos, but if you want Swiss then you would really be better off ordering from the internet somewhere. Selfridges are expensive and don't discount.
I would say Tissot over Rotary (I've never really heard of Rotary outside the UK) but as they are not a really exclusive rand you'll find that loads of web retailers sell them without restrictions.
For example that Tissot you have shown above is available for £100+ shipping.

Both, Rotary and Seiko, make watches that cost from £50 to £50,000You really cannot go wrong.
BTW; Rotary are long established and pukka watch makers http://www.rotarywatches.com/UK/21505.html
