Omega Speedmaster Professional

Are you buying privately or from a dealer? I bought one for £900 privately which was mint with box and papers.
There are a few display case back models around, new ones have a sapphire face also.
I think new they're around £2100 for the 3573.50.00 but it incorrectly says "First and only watch worn on the moon" and has the new style bracelet.
Mine is the older 3572.50.00 with the correct "First watch worn on the moon" inscription on the case back.
For a good condition one from a U.K. dealer with a bracelet they would expect something like £1500ish depending on condition.

I'm intending to buy privately, from the ebay seller in Japan actually. I'd be happy to pay £900ish for one, and I do love the crystal caseback. Do you reckon i'd have a better chance of getting it cheaper in the US with the exchange rate as it is?
Perhaps. Have you tried the timezone sales forums. Quite a few PHers have bought watches on there? It's very U.S. based but there are good prices.I've seen some of the Japanese Omega sellers on ebay but have never used them. I couldn't see much wrong with them from the quick look I had.

So best to get one with it from the start then. Probably work out cheaper as well.
Yes, the cost of buying tools to open the case and the cost of the spacers and then the actual display caseback itself don't really work out much cheaper.Plus the movement isn't as nicely finished on non display models.
Plus you might it up.
