Best place (price?) for a GMT II
Discussion
Hi all - I'm hankering after a Rolex GMT II, now that my much loved Seiko needs to be retired from everyday use. Apart from my usual tendency to replace anything worn out with something 10 times the price, I've always liked the aviation connection of the GMT
I'm not a great fan of the new version with the ceramic bezel; ideally I'd like a previous generation red/black one in stainless. So far my options include new from Heathrow, new by haggling with a friendly local jeweller, used from Watchfinder or similar, or waiting until I'm next in the US toward Christmas. I've no prejudice against buying used, as long as I can get one complete with papers etc in good condition.
I see that they go for more or less £2k used in the UK - I'd be interested to hear experiences from the discount/airport/abroad routes if anyone has gone down those routes.
Thanks!
Pete
